Boys Volleyball for High School Athletes in Kansas City

Roots Volleyball Academy gives high school boys in the Kansas City metro opportunities to develop their skills, compete on club teams, and prepare for their next stage of volleyball. Through our Houses, athletes build their game with coaching, team practices, and competitive tournament experiences.

Roots is a volleyball club. It is not a school team, and it does not run a school league.

What to Look for in a Boys Volleyball Club

Every family weighs these differently. Here is what we suggest asking any club — and how Roots answers.

Coaching and development: Look for teaching, not just games. Each Roots House has its own coaching staff, and training is skill-first: skills are broken down and reinforced with high-repetition drills that put feedback into practice.
Location: Practices should be realistic to reach every week. Roots practices at Hy-Vee Arena in Kansas City, Missouri.
Competition: Ask where teams compete. Roots Houses play local and travel tournaments through the club season.
Commitment: Know the schedule before you commit. Travel teams practice 3× per week and compete in six to ten tournaments.
Cost transparency: Ask for costs in writing. Club dues for the indoor season range from $1,500–$4,500 (varies by team and age group). Payment plans available.
Community and support: The House system gives every athlete a team identity, with leadership and character development built in. Families stay informed through the Roots app, the club calendar, and the R News newsletter.
